ST NEOT SOCIAL CLUB –RULES
1. The name of the club shall be called "St Neot Social Club"
2. The objectives of the club shall be
a) the maintenance of Club rooms at the Institute, St Neot
b) the provision of an opportunity for playing snooker and other indoor games and to promote social interaction among the members.
3. Every member of the club shall ( subject to these rules and to Bye-laws for the time being in force) be entitled to use and enjoy in common with other members of the club the rooms and furniture, fittings and other fixtures therein provided.
4. The annual subscription for membership of the club shall be as follows:
ORDINARY MEMBERSHIP.................)
JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP......................). All fixed at AGM
All annual subscriptions shall be due on 1st January each year. New members joining in October will carry forward 3 months membership to following year.
5. A General Meeting of the Club shall be held every year on or about the 25th day of March to transact the following business:
a. To receive and if approved, to adopt the statement of the Clubs accounts to the end of the preceding year, after those accounts have been subjected to an independent review.
b. To consider, and if approved sanction any duly made alterations of the Rules.
c. To appoint the committee
d. Any members proposals must be made in writing to the secretary 10 days before the AGM.
Notice of the AGM meeting to be posted in the local press and on the club and village notice boards not less than 28 days before the meeting. Agenda to be posted in the club premises.
6. At a General Meeting the voting shall be confined to members.
7. At a Committee Meeting 7 shall form a Quorum. at a General Meeting, 16 members shall form a quorum. Any members wishing to be considered for election must notify the secretary in writing prior to the AGM.
8. New members to submit application with proposer and seconder in place with membership fee paid on application. Application to go before next committee meeting and confirmation, or refund if not accepted.
9. Members may introduce visitors to the club premises upon signing a visitors book. Visitors admitted more than 5 times a year should become members. Signage on notice board to confirm protocol for visitors and signing in requirements.
10. Persons aged 16-18 years inclusive may only be admitted as junior members of the club and shall at all times observe such regulations as to their conduct and admittance to the club premises. Up to 14 year olds need to be accompanied by a guardian in snooker room and on pool table and relinquish table at 9pm to senior members.
11. Any members misconduct to be dealt with by bar staff, to their discretion. Serious misconduct to be reported to the bar committee for discussion and appropriate action taken.
12. Any person ceasing to be a member of the club shall forfeit all rights to and claim upon the Clubs property and funds.
13. The Club premises may be open to members guests visiting sports teams clubs or individuals and their bona fide supporters and officials and hirers of the village halls facilities. With opening hours at the discretion of the Bar Committee to comply with licensing hours.
14. Intoxicating liquor may NOT be bought or consumed by any member of the Club or guest who is under the age of 18 years.
15. St Neot Social Club will not discriminate on the grounds of gender, race, colour, ethnic or national origin, sexuality, disability, religious or political belief, marital status or age.
16. Any committee member not attending a meeting without apology for 3 months will be contacted by the committee and asked if they wish to resign.
